The art collector and curator of the interior blog Gevonden op Marktplaats, Julien Rademaker has an exceptional eye for detail and profound knowledge of art and design history, providing him with the perfect skills as a furniture collector and gifted interior stylist. Having spent weekends browsing through flea markets, we thought there was perhaps no better person to talk to for our guide to Amsterdam and so Julien kindly agreed to show us his favourite sites of the city.

Henri Matisse: The Cut-Outs is this year’s blockbuster exhibition at the Tate Modern and a must see for anyone in or visiting London. Devoted to the artist’s paper cut-outs made between 1937 and 1954, the exhibition brings together over 100 pieces, many seen together for the first time and is a master class in how Matisse used colour and movement in his innovative final works.

Backgammon is a stylish past-time that for nearly 5000 years has been a source of entertainment in cultures across the world, long associated with the leaders and aristocracy of ancient civilisations, with similar versions of the game found in King Tutankhamen’s tomb and Plato describing a form of backgammon in Roman society. We caught up with British-born designer, Alexandra Llewellyn, who has established herself as one of the world's leading backgammon board designers.
